P90X Update…. Day 3

Ok, I have to admit. I am not doing as well with the diet as I would like, but I am still working on it and taking it one day at a time. It is so much harder to push play when you are sore too! Today, I woke up, decided to try to get out of bed, but stayed there a little longer because I was so sore I could barely move. I know my body will just have to get used to actually using the muscles everyday, but it doesn’t make it that much easier right now.

Last night was Cardio X….. which I thought might be a little easier, which I guess it was compared to the Core Synergistics that we did the first day, but it definitely wasn’t easy. I got a little emotional because I let myself get discouraged when I couldn’t do a few of the things on the DVD. Well, I got over it and finished strong. I was pretty happy with myself.

Tonight, we do our first actual full on resistance, which I think is arms and shoulders. I will have to get creative seeing as I cannot do a pull up and my pushups are very girly. But, as Tony Horton (the trainer) says, I will do my best and forget the rest.

Now if I can just figure out a time I can do the DVD and not miss American Idol… Hmmmmm………

    Hey Mandy,
I know what it’s like. I’m now in my 2nd round of P90X. It does get better — never easy — but better. I have struggled with the diet.
You are commended for even attempting to do this. It is Xtreme!
    Blessings,
    Dave

If you can’t do pull-ups, don’t be discouraged, I can barely do one. But I have found other variations that mimic the pull-up motion so I can do something during those pull-up sections.

As for push-ups, there are no girly push-ups…getting on your knees isn’t helpful. Just try to do them normally even if you don’t do many. The key is to keep your back and legs in a straight line and not bend in the middle. I use a mirror on its side to see if I’m doing them correctly. It took me a while to figure out how to do push-ups right and it works out your core more than your arms.

    Good luck! =)
