P90X Update…. Day 5

First of all, thank you everyone for all the tips and encouraging words! I am super excited about what I am doing and am happy to see other people excited too!

So, last nights workout was Yoga X. It is an hour and a half of yoga that works and stretches every part of your body. Since my husband went to prayer last night, I waited for him to get home so we could do the workout together, but he didn’t get home until almost 10:00 and I had already been up super early because our girls had a Dr.’s appointment. Well, to make a long story short, for the past 2 months or so, my right wrist has been really hurting when I put any pressure on it at all. That made yoga quite a challenge to say the least, because you are basically balancing on your hands most of the time. Well, I made it about 30 minutes and had to quit because my wrist was hurting so bad. It was pretty frustrating to say the least because I was really enjoying the yoga.

So I have been trying to figure out what would have caused this pain, and many people have suggested carpal tunnel, but I couldn’t figure out what repetitive motion could have caused that. Well, last night I think my husband figured it out. I have a Sidekick for a phone and most of the actions are controlled by the track ball on the right side of the phone. I am on my phone constantly browsing, texting, etc. So I think that is the culprit. Well, I am going to try to use my phone some other way besides constantly scrolling with my thumb and am going to try taping my wrist and try the yoga again next week. We are going to move on to the Legs and Back DVD so we don’t get behind and I figure I won’t be able to do much yoga until my wrist heals up some. The pushups are hard enough!

Well, I was kind of bummed since that was the first night I hadn’t gone all the way through the workout, but, as Tony Horton always says, I am going to do my best and forget the rest! So, instead of being bummed, I am going to choose to BRING IT!!!!
